The GLOSSY Circle is here! I’ll be introducing you to its ten fabulous members over the coming months. First up, though, is *drumroll please* Willow Biggs!
While you may recognise Willow from her YouTube channel, there’s a lot you won’t know about the 34-year-old…
A Q&A With Willow Biggs
Q: How Did You Get Into Beauty And Start Your YouTube Channel?
A: I have to confess, I never really had a consistent skincare routine growing up. When I turned 22, I decided it was time to create a regimen and stick to it. That’s how I got into skincare. The rest followed from that.
I don’t always go high end, though. When it comes to body care, I’m happy to use Soaper Duper and Palmer’s. Their Cocoa Butter is brilliant!
Q: Have You Always Been Into Makeup?
A: Actually, no. *Willow laughs*. I didn’t wear a lot of makeup in my twenties. My makeup bag consisted of a few bareMinerals products and an eyeliner. It wasn’t until I launched my YouTube channel two years ago that I really got into it.
Makeup makes me feel confident and gives me an extra boost!
I started experimenting with new products and new techniques. I discovered just how much of an extra boost makeup can give you.
Q: What Does Makeup Mean To You Now?
A: I wear makeup most days now. For me, it’s like putting on a piece of fashionable clothing that allows my personality to shine through. It’s like an extension of who I am.
Makeup is like a piece of fashionable clothing. It allows your personality to shine through.
I love creating so many different looks and making it match up with my outfit. On a lovely sunny day, I’ll opt for a colourful and bright look, while I’ll go for darker tones in the autumn. Of course, you can never go wrong with a coppery shimmer, whatever the weather!
Q: What’s Your Top Beauty Tip?
A: At least once a week, have a ‘me day’ where you just step away from the stresses of everyday life and relax. Beauty isn’t just about what people see, but what you think of yourself when you look in the mirror.
On my ‘me day’, I’ll either apply a sheet face mask and a hair mask, then soak in a hot bath with some salt bath salts or bath bomb. Or, I’ll apply a cooling eye mask, paint my nails, then read a book. It’s just about taking some time for yourself.
