To all the Glossy mums out there, this one is for you! I know Easter can be a busy time, particularly when your kids have been off school for so long. Luckily for you, I’ve found the best free (or almost) Easter egg hunts near you to keep the little ones entertained.

London And Surrounding Areas

Easter egg hunt
  • Chingford Library

Monday 15th of April to Sunday 21st of April, this event runs every day from 9am until 5pm Monday through Saturday, then 12 lunchtime until 4pm on Sunday. Kids aged 12 and under hunt for eggs and win a prize if they find seven of them.

  • Hornimam Easter Fair

On Easter Saturday and Sunday (the 20th and 21st of April), enjoy a day of Easter-themed fun at Hornimam Museum and Gardens. Between 10:30am and 4:30pm, follow an Easter trail, get creative at the craft workshops and enjoy some storytellings and face painting. Entry is free.

  • Ham House

From tomorrow until the 22nd of April, Ham House will be home to a series of Easter Egg hunts, as well as Easter-themed games like hopscotch, hopping sack races and an egg and spoon obstacle course.

Go anytime between 10am and 5pm for a day of family fun. Entry costs £3, plus normal admission cost to the seventeenth century property.

  • Morden Hall Park

On Easter weekend (19th to 22nd of April), hunt across bridges, meadows and boardwalks to search for all the animals living in this National Trust Park. You’ll be rewarded with a Cadburry Easter Egg. The event takes place between 10am and 4pm. Entry is £4.50.

  • Pirate Easter Egg Hunts

From Friday 19th to Monday 22ndof April, search Captain Scallywag’s ship for all the hidden Easter eggs his crew have planted. There are three sessions a day: 12 to 12:45pm, 1:15 to 2pm and 2:30 to 3:45pm. Entry costs just £3 and needs to be pre-booked by calling 0141 330 9077.

  • Egg Hunt At Temple Newsam, Leeds

Until the 22ndof April, visit Temple Newsam to enjoy a whole host of Easter activities. Spend the afternoon searching for chocolate eggs hidden around the estate, and visit the farm to meet the lambs, calves and piglets. The special Easter activities are free, but you will need to pay normal admissions costs.

  • Easter Dragon Egg Trail At Pontefract Castle, Pontefract

On April 18th, from 11am until 2pm, follow a mysterious trail and hunt down the dragon’s egg to claim your prize. The event also includes games, crafts and other fun activities for the kids.

  • Lotherton Hall Easter Fun, Leeds

Until the 28th of April, Lotherton Hall is hosting a range of Alice in Wonderland themed Easter activities from 11am until 3pm. Follow the White Rabbit’s trail, play hopping games with the Easter Bunny and enjoy an arts and crafts session. Plus, if you go on a Wednesday, have a tea party with the Mad Hatter. You just need to pay admission into the estate.

From tomorrow until the 28th of April, between 10am and and 4pm, follow a trail through Strid Wood and try to spot the colourful bunnies hiding in the trees. You'll just need to pay for parking.
