Purple Contouring For Mermaid Definition
Taking a Morphe M510 brush I used the same purple eyeshadow used above from Illamasqua and applied it to where you would usually contour – on your temples, under your cheekbones and on your hairline.

Highlighter
I used the bBold Contour Kit, which is paraben free and vegan friendly! I love the highlighter in this palette because it adds such a high impact sheen. I applied it to brow bones and my cheek bones to add an ethereal and pearly glow.

Setting Spray
I then used the dewy NYX Professional Makeup Makeup Setting Spray. The lightweight formula is the perfect way to keep the highlighter and purple eyeshadow in place.
Setting spray is a must for keeping a dramatic look in place and for adding a dewy glow.

Creating mermaid scales using fishnet tights
Regular fishnet tights are all you need to create mermaid scales! No, seriously! Pop them over the top of your head and hold them so they are firmly in place under your chin.
I then used the Shell Brush from the July GLOSSYBOX to apply 3 different shades on the areas where I wanted mermaid scales! The precise bristles of this brush are perfect for this. Check out my other tutorial on how to use this brush!
3 colours for the scales:
- Purple – Illamasqua Powder Eye Shadow in the shade CanCan
- Pink – the blush shade from the Tropic Sculpting Palette
- Turquoise – Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Shade Turquoise
