Pantone has officially announced its colour of the year 2018. We hope you like purple, because you’re about to see a lot more of it! Yep, the hue of the next 12 months is set to be Ultra-Violet.
Think Prince, the cosmos and, since it’s Christmas, the Big Purple One too. But before you write it off as a shade too bold for everyday wear, just take a moment to consider all the incredible makeup looks that are just waiting to be spruced up with a dash of deep purple.
“Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now,” reads the statement from colour experts at Pantone.
“Nuanced and full of emotion, the depth of PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet symbolises experimentation and non-conformity, spurring individuals to imagine their unique mark on the world, and push boundaries through creative outlets.”
