While many of us still turn to our favourite powder blush to impart a pretty flush of colour to our cheeks, there's a lot to be said for all those cream formulas out there.
A secret weapon for many makeup artists, cream blusher is one of the most natural ways to add a glowing dash of healthy colour to your complexion. It's also super easy to blend, meaning it's a fool proof addition to your makeup routine if you're after the 'no makeup makeup' look.
With this in mind, we set about putting some of the best rated cream blushers to the test. Here's how we got on...
This velvety smooth cream blush is great if you're after a sheer wash of colour on your cheeks. The finish is dewy and lasts all day - plus it's mineral! NYX Professional Makeup Rouge Cream Blush in Glow, £6.50 If you like the blend-ability of cream blushers but aren't a fan of the slightly dewy finish, then this dome-shaped blush is the one for you. It starts off creamy, but once it's applied to your cheeks it blends in to a soft, velvety finish. Bagsy Pretty Cheeks Velvet Flush, £16 As with the Bagsy blush, if you're not a fan of the finish normal cream blushers leave but like the easy blend-ability of them, Topshop do a whole host that turn from cream to powder when applied. They melts into the skin, leaving you with a natural glow. This shade in particular offers a slightly ruddy yet utterly beautiful finish. Topshop Blush in Illicit, £7 Gently dab this pretty blush on to highlight your cheekbones. The texture means you can blend and build up the colour with your fingers, for a finish and colour intensity that suits you. Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Promise, £22 The dewiest of them all, this little blush can be used on both your cheeks and lips, so it's great for colour on-the-go. The soft, almost translucent finish adds a really subtle flush of colour to your face - but you can also build this up. Stila Convertible Colour for Lips and Cheeks, £16 The addition of serum in this blusher helps it adapt to the individual chemistry of your skin, ergo allowing for a more natural finish. Simply apply 3 dots to the apple of the cheeks and press and blend it in using a light lifting motion. Perricone MD No Blush Blush, £29GLOSSYBOX
