This month we want all our Glossies to feel renewed and revitalised, and ready for the new spring season.

One way to do this is through Vegan Beauty.

What is Vegan beauty I hear you ask?

Vegan makeup & beauty products means they do not contain any animal products or any products derived from an animal.

Unfortunately a high amount of brands use animal products due to the fact their much easier to source and alot cheaper.

This is why Vegan brands are standing out in 2023. Sourcing and the manufacturing of vegan products is a costly and complicated process, so to still want to provide Vegan products and not use animal options, really reflects a brand's character.

What ingredients are not Vegan that you should avoid...

The below example ingredients are either animal products or are derived from an animal - so if you want to stick to vegan beauty, please avoid these products.

Shellac, Carmine, Lanolin, Beeswax, Honey and Keratin. How can you check if a product is Vegan?

For even more peace of mind when purchasing a skincare, haircare or makeup product, look out for certified logos on the brands packaging.

Check for certifications such as The Vegan Action ‘Certified Vegan’ logo (cruelty free is the ‘Leaping Bunny’ logo).

Why should you use Vegan products?

Vegan beauty products are overall better for your skin. As these are usually made of natural ingredients, for example Coconut Water, Castor Oil, etc that work fantastically on and for the skin.

Vegan products use plant-based alternatives, and use a lot less but high potent ingredients, which means even if you have sensitive skin, Vegan products will be for you!

Vegan products contain nutritious ingredients

As I mentioned, vegan cosmetics are derived from plants, so are considered to be more nutritious than others. Plants have the highest source of Antioxidants, Vitamins and Minerals - which are perfect for healthier-looking and radiant skin.

To start your Vegan beauty journey...take a look below at my current favourite 5 Vegan beauty products.

This transparent gloss is infused with collagen which stimulates your lips, leaving them feeling soft and smooth. It also adds a mirror-like shine. Simply sweep it onto your bare lips or over a lipstick for a fuller and plumper-looking pout.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial

It’s all in the name with this revitalising face mask – with it’s main goal being leaving your complexion baby-soft! This mask packs a punch with it’s vegan ingredients glossies. Matcha, apple, milk thistle and pomegranate – soothes and conditions your complexion. Chickpea flour brightens and balances, while Marula Oil leaves skin with a flawless glass-like finish! Perfect for any skin type! To top it off, it's also cruelty-free.

Maybelline Colossal Curl Bounce Mascara

Move over Sky High, this mascara combines extreme volume with bouncy curl, offering long-lasting definition to every single lash. The formula utilises Memory-Curl technology which gives you up to 24-hour wear. Even after a long day of travelling, there was no clumping, no smudging and no flaking. My favourite thing about this magical mascara, is its unique Curl ‘N’ Bounce brush which has a curved design to separate, lift and curl your lashes to perfection.

First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub with 10% AHA

The First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrubwith 10% AHA was one of the skincare products making the rounds on TikTok last year, due to its obvious results of smoother skin. Created with pumice buffing beads, this body scrub naturally exfoliates, removes dead skin and rough bumps to leave you with silky soft skin. Glossies, this scrub is perfect for prepping your skin for applying fake tan or shaving your legs. Rich in antioxidants, this formula protects you from sun rays and enhances your natural shield against pollution and, containing bisabolol extracts too, it also helps to soothe and calm your skin.

NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette - Phoenix

I love an eyeshadow palette and this vegan option is a pro-level palette full of 16 luxe, velvety shadows. It's multi use palette, that you can take with you on your next holiday! There’s a black shade that can mimic eyeliner, shimmers to highlight the eyes and cheekbones and a handful of gorgeous matte shades, to create an array of different eye looks for all occasions.

You know how people say putting on your favourite clothes can instantly boost or change your mood? Well that's how I feel when I put on my favourite makeup. Makeup isn't to cover up, it's to show off our personality - and I love how everyone does their makeup in their own unique way! I never leave the house without a tinted lip balm in hand, and just like everyone right now, I love a good dupe!
