With the nights being dark and cold, we can’t think of anything better than cosying up on the sofa. Add a fluffy blanket and an endless catalogue of Netflix films and series to binge on and you’ll know where to find us for the next few months!

If, like us, you think you’ve already watched everything the streaming service has to offer, you’ll be glad to know Netflix is releasing plenty more over the next few weeks. Whatever your favourite genre – whether it’s action, romance or even musicals – these are our top recommendation to watch on Netflix this December.

What To Watch On Netflix In December 2020

Ava

In this action drama, deadly black-ops assassin Ava Faulkner (played by Jessica Chastain) must fight for her own survival when a job goes horribly wrong. Alongside Chastain is a full star-studded cast, including John Malkovich (as seen on Netflix’s Bird Box and Space Force), Geena Davis (Netflix’s GLOW), Colin Farrell, Joan Chen, Ioan Gruffudd and rapper Common.

Release date: December 7th

The Prom

If big named casts are your thing, you’ll also love The Prom. One of the biggest cast lists Netflix has ever assembled, this musical includes the talent of Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Kerry Washington, Jo Ellen Pellman and more! This prom will likely be the only many will attend this year, so sit back and enjoy the celebrations as this sing-along story follows a troupe that swarms a small-town high school girl who is looking to take her girlfriend to prom.

Release date: December 11th

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom

Featuring the late Chadwick Boseman, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is potentially Netflix's biggest film release of December. Directed by George C. Wolfe and based on an award-winning play, this film is set in 1920s Chicago and follows the tension between Ma Rainey and her management.

Release date: December 18th

The Midnight Sky

Another title in Netflix’s strong 2020 movie line up is this big budget production, which again comes with a stellar cast. In this sci-fi thriller, a scientist working alone in the Arctic desperately tries to prevent a crew in space from returning to Earth. Featuring Felicity Jones, George Clooney, Sophie Rundle, and Kyle Chandler, The Midnight Sky is a must-watch.

Release date: December 23rd

Bridgerton

If you’re looking for something to watch whilst you’re dealing with a post-Christmas dinner food coma, get comfy with this major title from Grey’s Anatomy producer Shonda Rhimes. Imagine a programme that’s a mix between Downton Abbey and a Disney princess live-action reboot, and that’s Bridgerton spot on! We’d put money on it being hugely popular!

Release date: December 25th

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Season 4)

The much-loved Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will come to a close with its fourth and final season this December. Based on the Archie comic book series by the same name, this American supernatural horror series follows the adventures of half-witch and half-human Sabrina who leads a dual life of a high school student and a sorcery student in the magical world.

Release date: December 31st

I'm someone who loves getting glammed up, but I feel like I never have enough time. Frequently running between work, the gym and seeing friends means my makeup routine is quick and often touched up on the go. Therefore, beauty products that serve as multi-purpose are perfect for me - a blush that works for cheeks and lips is a must in my makeup bag!
