How CC Creams Balance Out Redness And Dullness

CC creams

From BB creams and CC creams to now DD creams (if you haven’t heard of this one, it stands for ‘Daily Defence’ and is infused with SPF), finding the right alphabetical skincare cream for you can be really confusing. That’s why I’ve put together a little guide to help you understand what a CC cream is and determine if it’s right for you…

What’s The Difference Between BB And CC Creams?

Whilst these two products may seem similar on the outside, they are actually subtly different. BB creams are essentially lighter foundations with a few additional skincare benefits. CC creams, however, are colour correctors that contain more pigments and offer a better coverage. The idea is that they can even out hyperpigmentation, acne scarring and dark circles by concealing them. Some also treat redness and sallowness

How Does CC Cream Work?

In lots of ways, CC creams are almost magical. You know those concealer palettes that have yellow, green and orange hues? Well, a CC cream contains all of these tones and calls on the correct ones to cancel out and neutralise unwanted shades in our skin tone. So, if your skin is a little red, it calls on the green tones to even it out. Or, if you have a lot of blue veins or dark circles, it will call on orange tones to counteract those.

What Skin Type Does CC Cream Work Best On?

Acne and blemish-prone skin will benefit most from CC creams as they camouflage the redness in spots and irritation. If your skin looks sallow and has lost its natural radiance in favour of yellow or brown tones, then CC cream can remedy that too. Essentially, CC creams cover redness and brighten dull complexions
