Christmas has just been and gone, and I’ve no doubt that you all received lots of fabulous beauty-related presents. I’m willing to bet, though, that you also got a well-intentioned skincare bundle from your great-aunt that you’re never realistically going to use. Or maybe you got a shade of blush that isn’t quite your colour? Or you’ve just received a fabulous new palette that’s made your other one redundant? Don’t be too quick to just throw them away! You can give them to charity and help women in need.

About Give And Makeup
Founded by Caroline Hirons, Give and Makeup is a non-profit initiative that brings everyday beauty essentials to women and children escaping domestic violence. It really is a wonderful cause.
Give and Makeup works alongside Refuge and Women’s Aid to help women fleeing abusive relationships. In most cases, these women have fled with their children and left all their belongings behind. They're in need of basic cosmetics to get back on their feet.
Just think: the makeup palette that didn’t suit your skin tone, or the shower gel you received two of, could come to someone's aid.
What Can You Donate?
The beauty of Give and Makeup is that they accept both new and second-hand cosmetic products. You know that moisturiser that didn’t work with your skin type? Or the hair mask that wasn’t effective on your locks? You can donate them!
Give and Makeup accept:
- New or slightly used makeup: foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner,...
- Unopened makeup: concealer, mascara, lipgloss and lipstick
- Everyday essentials: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste, body lotion, feminine hygiene products, shaving products, DIY hair dye kits,...
- Skincare: cleanser, toner, moisturiser, exfoliator,..
Quick note though Glossies, for hygiene reasons, you can’t donate items that have been tested with an applicator (like lipgloss, mascara or lipstick) or really old makeup. Just ask yourself: would I give this to a friend? If yes, send it their way!
