Type ‘beauty hack’ in to Google and chances are you’ll return a search with upwards of a gazillion results. And who hasn’t typed in ‘how do I get flawless, glowing skin?’ at least once..?

There are millions of blogs, articles and videos all showing ‘hacks’ of some sort, but the one that’s likely going to sit at the top of your page is ‘Jamsu’, a beauty hack that Bella Hadid is a huge fan of. Jamsu is a Korean beauty hack and the rough translation is ‘to submerge’, but in English it’s become known as the slightly less elegant ‘face dunking’.

The idea is that you’re supposed to ‘dunk’ your face in ice cold water once you’ve baked your makeup - so with primer, concealer and foundation on, you then apply a lot of banana powder and dunk your face in water.

We know, it all sounds very odd. So we decided to give it a go and see if it really delivered. Watch the video below to find out...

Want to try it yourself? Here's how...

1. On moisturised skin, apply concealer as normal - paying particular attention to any area of the face you'd like to brighten (T-zone, under the eyes and along the jawline). 2. Bake! Apply plenty of banana powder all over the areas you've applied concealer. 3. Dunk your face into a dish of water. The internet seems to show that a casserole dish provides the best dimensions. 6. If you have oily skin, submerge and turn your face from side-to-side for 15-30 seconds, for normal/dry skin do this for a maximum of 15 seconds. 7. Pat your skin dry.
