Team Tries: Best Fake Tan

We all know that when it comes to summer in the UK, it can be fairly hit or miss. So, when the sunny season hits many of us tend to turn to our trusty bottle of fake tan to add a dash of sun-kissed colour to any pasty looking limbs.

From groundbreaking innovations to the coveted staples we return to year after year, this month we made it our mission to find the best fan tan for 2017.

Here’s how we got on…

‘A tanning sheet mask sounds scary, but I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely say the top tip for using this mask is to rub the product into your skin after taking off the mask and make sure you don’t leave out the area around your eyes/your hairline! Make sure your eyebrows don’t have a build up of product around them, oh – and wash your hands!’ – Emma, Social Assistant
St.Tropez Self Tan Express Face Sheet Mask, £15

‘Rapid tan by name, rapid tan by nature. This lightweight foam left my limbs sporting a pretty sun-kissed glow after 60 short minutes (perfect for a night out) and also dried really quickly. Tip from me? Make sure you apply it evenly, using fast circular motions to help you avoid any patches.’ – Ana, Graphic Designer
Sun Kissed Rapid Tan, £3.99

‘After hearing a number of great things about this tan, it seemed only apt I gave it a go myself. The gel-like formula is easy to spread (just remember when you’ve covered as it’s clear) and doesn’t smell in the slightest. Within an hour, my skin was left with a natural-looking deep olive undertone, like I’d just stepped off the plane from an exotic location.’ – Alice, Beauty Editor
Xen Tan Transformation Ultra, £49.99

‘I loved the mousse texture of this tanning product. It smooths over your skin and you can literally see it developing over time. I love that it develops in an hour, so you can literally wash it straight off (tan still intact) and won’t be left having to dry for hours.’ – Emma, Social Assistant
Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter 1 Hour Extra Dark Tan Mousse, £9.95

‘I’m addicted to coconut water, so it was a no brainer to try the UTan and Tone’s Coconut Tanning Water. Firstly, it smells divine – no soggy biscuit smell AT ALL. Secondly, it’s oh so easy. It sprays a fine, even spritz over your face for a deep, bronzed glow.’ – Coryn, Brand Campaign Manager
UTan and Tone’s Coconut Tanning Water, £17.99
