Pantone Of The Month: Rose Quartz

In the same way we wait, eagerly, for the September issues, the excitement around Pantone’s announcement of key colours is something that’s almost palpable to us. We’re always keen to know which hues they’ll flag up as the ‘colours of the year’ and we couldn’t have been happier when at the start of 2016, Rose Quartz was given its time to shine.

This skin-flattering colour is the perfect addition to your autumn beauty bag, adding lustre to kissable lips, a flattering flutter to eyes and a cool touch to cheeks. And your wardrobe deserves a little semi-precious action too.

It’s one of the biggest hues of the moment and so easily wearable.  Here are a few ways to wear one of our favourite hues in this year’s colour palette…

Semi Precious Flush…
Smashbox LA Lights Blendable Lip and Cheek Colour in Beverly Hills Blush, £25. A sheer, shimmery pink that looks as expensive on skin as its name suggests. On no make-up make-up days use it on lips, cheeks and eyelids for a super pretty style.

A Kiss from a Rose…
Sheer, shimmery and a hint of pink gives this Bobbi Brown Tube Tint in Bare Shimmer, £17.50, a rose quartz edge. And the plump gloss gives lips kissable volume.

Rambling rose…
No one wants to wear a full face of make-up to the gym, but rose quartz gives a pretty, sheer finish you can get away with if you don’t want to hit your spin class make-up free. And it’s a great hue for your gym kit too… The Athletic Propulsion Labs Techloom Phantom Mesh Sneakers, £130.

Nailing the trend…
Your nails can look semi-precious like rose quartz with sheer pinkiness and subtle shimmer with Butter London Nail Lacquer in Splash Out, £12. Layer-up to get a more dense, but no less prettifying finish.

The eyes have it…
A little liquid shimmer in the inner corner of the eyes is an excellent way to make your peepers stand out. MUA Intense Glitter Eyeliner Pink Sparkle, £1, has a subtle rose hue to keep your style on-trend.
