It's backstage at fashion week where all the new nail trends are cooked up by the loving hands of the most coveted manicurists in the beauty business. From nail art to a subtle slick of nude, you name it, it hailed from the runway. So we enlisted a little help from the pros at Nails Inc. to give us the inside scoop on what's hot for autumn and winter.

Here are a trio of nail art tutorials (ranked easy to hard) that'll have you covered for the new season...

SEEING RED1. File your nails to the preferred shape and length, then apply a moisturising base coat. Apply two coats of Nails Inc. Kensington High Street.

2. Next, using Nails Inc. St James and a nail art brush or makeup brush, place the brush flat on the tip of the nail and brush downwards into the middle of the nail. Do the same on the opposite side of the nail and join both strokes to meet at the middle of the nail.

3. Finish the look off with a slick of top coat and a dab cuticle oil around the edge of the nails. Leave to dry for 15 minutes and the look is complete.

PAINTERLY STRIPES1. File your nails to the preferred shape and length, then apply a moisturising base coat. Apply two coats of Nails Inc in Hyde Park Place.

2. Then, using a flat nail art brush or make up brush apply small swipes of Nails Inc Battersea Park over the Hyde Park Place. It doesn't have to be neat - the more jagged the lines the better the effect will be!

3. Now, using the same brush apply small swipes of Nails Inc. West End in the gaps.

2. Next, use Nails Inc. Primrose Hill Lane and a thin nail art brush or makeup brush to draw two thin, curved lines diagonally from one side of your nail to the other.

3. Now apply Nails Inc. Black Taxi just above the Primrose Hill Lane line. Make sure you don't apply too much pressure on the brush to avoid dents.
