Netflix has so many films, documentaries and TV shows to choose from, but what are the best shows to watch on Netflix this June? Whether you’re a reality TV fan, into crime thrillers, or after a rom-com, I’ve collated the four perfect picks for you…
1. Royalty, History And Drama: The Crown
This TV series is a historical drama about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and, trust me, it’s one of the best shows to watch on Netflix.
The first season of The Crown starts with the Queen’s marriage to Philip and ends with Princess Margaret being prevented from marrying Peter Townsend, while the second season covers everything from the Suez Crisis to the birth of Prince Edward. Lucy has really been getting into it!
Full of human drama and heartbreak, as well as personal and national turmoil, it’s got binge-worthy written all over it.
Series 3, starring Olivia Coleman, is set to be released in the second half of 2019, so there’s no time like the present to catch up on the first two seasons!
2. Makeup, Dresses And Sass: Ru Paul’s Drag Race
Introducing your new obsession! An American reality TV competition, RuPaul’s Drag Race follows the journey of fourteen contestants as they compete to become America’s next drag superstar. Amy on the Glossy Team can’t get enough!
A whole show dedicated to amazing makeup, dresses, hair and drama… what more could you want?
There are 11 seasons worth of tasks, runways and lipsyncs to watch on Netflix, so what are you waiting for?
3. Crime And Thrills: Bodyguard
Sorry Glossies, this isn’t a remake of the 1992 Whitney Houston film ‘The Bodyguard’, but you’ll love it just as much!
One of the best shows to watch on Netflix, Bodyguard is a gripping and riveting must-see!
A BBC crime thriller, Bodyguard follows the story of war veteran David Budd who, after preventing a terror attack, is assigned to protect a politician (played by Keeley Hawes!) who supported the war he fought in. I won’t give too much away, but Meg has only just started watching it and she’s already hooked!
If you missed it when it was on BBC, it’s time to catch up!
4. A Teenage Rom-Com: The Last Summer
I was looking for something light and entertaining to watch over the spring bank holiday and found this newly-released rom-com.
Perfect for a lazy pyjama day, this easy-to-watch rom-com will take you back to your teenage years.
The Last Summer follows a group of high school graduates during their last summer before they head off to university. A coming-of-age story of love, friendship and complicated relationships, this feel-good film is the perfect cure for a rainy day!
Coming Soon: Jennifer Aniston Stars In Murder Mystery
Who doesn’t love a good Jennifer Aniston rom-com? In her latest project, Murder Mystery, she stars alongside Adam Sandler. They play a New York couple who, after meeting a mysterious man on their flight to Europe, are invited to an intimate party on a billionaire’s yacht. When the wealthy man gets killed, they become the prime suspects.
I have a feeling this is going to be one of the best films to watch on Netflix this June. I can’t wait for it to be released on the 14th of June!
