Barry M’s Chisel Cheeks Contour Cream Kit
Contouring is hardly a new beauty trend, but it’s time to put a 2019 spin on it. Forget the overly-sculpted look, this year is all about subtle definition, and that’s where the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit comes in!
Boasting six super blendable creamy shades, it’s the perfect makeup palette to help you create a subtly-defined face. Use the darker shades to emphasize your cheekbones, jawline and hairline, then use a lighter hue to blend and smooth out the look.
How To Create An On-Trend Subtle Contour
I asked our professional makeup artist Lucinka how she would use the palette. Here are her top tips to add depth and shadow to your face:
Step 1: Choose Your Colour
Choose the darker shade from the palette that best suits your skin tone for contouring. Lucinka says it should be a few shades darker than your foundation, so that you can really accentuate your jawline and cheekbones. She used shade 4.
Step 2: Accentuate Your Features
Use the Barry M cream contour to trace around your temple and the hollow of your cheeks, then add some colour just below your jawline and either side of the bridge of your nose.
Step 3: Brighten Your Complexion
Use shades 1 and 2 to brighten up your face. You can apply them under your eyes (it’ll cover dark circles!), over the high points of your cheeks and down your nose. You can even apply them below your brow bone and across your forehead. Just think of all the places that would naturally catch the light.
Step 4: Blend
You can then use a blending brush to seamlessly blend the makeup together. Try and create a fluid blend so that there are no obvious lines.

Barry M’s Cosmic Lights Highlighting Palette
You don’t need me to tell you that glowing skin is a massive trend! From glass skin to yoga skin, everyone wants a luminous complexion. Luckily for some of you, you’ll receive Barry M’s lustruous Cosmic Lights Highlighting Palette in this month’s GLOSSYBOX.
Filled with 6 shades, including 4 creamy hues and 2 iridescent powders, this highlighting palette will help you achieve a luminous, healthy glow. If you’re going for a subtle-yet-radiant look, I’d suggest just using the creams. If it’s shimmer that you’re after, I’d recommend using the powders. For the ultimately on-trend dewy glow, though, it’s best to combine the two.
How To Get Your Glow On
Again, I turned to Lucinka for her experts tips on how to create a gorgeous, glowing look:
Step 1: Create A Shimmery Base
Start by applying one of the iridescent cream highlighters (either 3 or 6) to your cheekbones. If you want a subtle glow, I'd recommend using hue 6, while a bronzer-style shimmer is best achieved with hue 3. You can apply it using a makeup brush, though Lucinka prefers to use her fingers to create a good base.
Step 2: Add Some Powder
Now that you've got a good base to work off, you can layer on your powder. Sweep the pink hue with gold undertones (2) just above your cheekbones using a fan brush. A highlighter and blush in one, it will give you a lovely flushed look.
Step 3: Experiment!
While the above two steps will give you glowing skin, this palette has such a variety of colours that it's worth just experimenting with it and finding the look that works best for you. The two cream highlighters on the left will give you a delicate rosy-faced look, while the silvery-hue in the bottom centre (5) has lovely icy undertones.
