Tutorial: Your Shimmering Smokey Eye
Inspired by the on-trend smudged look, our in-house makeup artist Lucinka has created an autumnal smokey eye for you to try at home.
Step One
To help your makeup last all night, using a good primer is a must. By taking out natural oils and creating a smooth base, a primer will prevent your colour from fading or creasing. Lucinka’s favourite primer has long been the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It’s a makeup bag must-have!
Now that you’ve got an even base to work off, apply the eyeshadow stick along the upper lash line and smudge it out into the creases of your eye using an eyeshadow brush. We just love this intense shimmering taupe colour!
Step Three
For a dramatic eye look, it’s essential that you apply a touch of colour under your eyes. It’ll add definition and really make your eyes pop. Simply glide the eyeshadow stick along the lower lash line and blend the colour in the outer corner of your eye.
Step Four
Finish off the look with lashings of mascara.
Lucinka’s go-to is the False Lash Architect Waterproof Mascara by L’Oréal Paris. It’s perfect for longer and fuller looking lashes that last all night. Of course, you can also use your Greater Than Mascara!
