Leonora Bamford, founder of parenting blog My Baba, talks us through the products that have earned pride of place on her bathroom shelf…

'My mother has naturally lovely skin and doesn't wear much makeup - that's probably why I don't either. She's more into the importance of good hair and says 'if your hair looks good, then you feel good'. I think she's right.

As a child, she didn't like me playing with her makeup but when I was about 13, my brother's girlfriend bought me a Lancôme set at Duty Free. I was over the moon. British Airways sells the same set 20 years on and it still makes me smile when I see it.

Marilyn Monroe definitely had an impact on me growing up, and I used to draw a beauty spot on any chance I got. A flash of red lip like hers always makes you feel sexy if you don't have much time. I'm always in a hurry and a quick touch of Clinique's Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato, £17, instantly makes me feel brighter.

I'm always trying new baby products for the blog and Naif Massage Oil, £12, is fab! On Sunday evening we turn the bathroom in to a spa and all have a back massage. I also love sinking into a deep bath after a long day and no one makes better bath salts than my mother. Her homemade Lavender Milk Bath Salts are the dream.

I change my cleansing routine every few months but one of my favourites is Sisley Buff and Wash Facial Gel, £72 at John Lewis. Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte's Magic Cream, £70 at Selfridges, is brilliant cream if you're tired and need a bit of pizzazz.

My favourite makeup artist Emma O'Byrne introduced me to Erborian Cc Crème HD, £36 at SpaceNK - it's a wonder product and you instantly glow when you put it on. I wash my hair most days and I love the new Bamford Botanic Shampoo and Conditioner, £16 each at Bamford.  I use it on the children too and it smells delicious.

If I ever have a headache Aromatherapy Associates Support Lavender Pure Essential Oil, £15 at Look Fantastic, is amazing. I rub it on to my temples and pulse points.
