Hit and Miss
I’ve been a Glossybox member for around 2-3 years. It’s very hit and miss and I’ve recently cancelled my subscription to try a different option. Most months I receive a box with random items I dislike, often to supply a weak theme. Boxes tend to be full of budget basics rather than the beauty treats it’s marketed as. Showergel is not a treat, it’s a staple you can pick up in any pound store. Items are also repeated frequently- I can open a market stall with the amount of black eyeliners I’ve received in the last year - at least six. Feedback isn’t taken into account, nor your profile preferences- I’ve filled in at least six surveys this year, and reviews, stating I dislike black eyeliner.... Also Glossybox seem to stick with same old brands month after month - benefit, sleek, palmers etc. Personally I want to try new and different brands, not affordable ones I can easily access in boots. However, all that said, every now and again you get a really good box, or one amazing product. Few and far between but it does happen. I’ve now got some makeup and skincare essentials that I would never have tried if I hadn’t received from Glossybox. But that underlines my point about new and different brands, none of these are from the more well known ones. Additionally it is nice to open a ‘present’ to yourself every month and does come beautifully packaged. However a nice box doesn’t make up for receiving items that you don’t like. If I had advice for Glossybox - develop two different boxes. Keep your garish eye shadows and black eyeliners for a younger market that can carry them off, and develop another box with higher end products targeted at the needs and likes of a more mature age group.

Wish they would include bigger brand names. Feel like Im receiving so many products I will never, ever use. How many lip products have we received in the last few months... jesus! I don't even wear lipstick!
