Not without it's flaws...

FIRST IMPRESSIONS… I’m not a mega fan of coloured lipgloss or lipsticks, mostly because I already have quite a dark pigmentation to my lip, and so it’s difficult to get the colour right. I steer well clear of light shades, and so my review is not based on how the colour looks on me – more about everything else that goes along with it. The packaging itself is okay, nothing special and nothing that makes it really stand out. I like the matte effect of the lid but the tube is pretty basic. I was given the shade LOLITA, which is a vibrant slightly purply pink colour made clear from the bottle. Perfect for summer! THE BAD BITS… On the back of my hand, this lip cream is a mousse – it’s bitty and a little lumpy, not really buttery as it says on the bottle. It was the same when using it on my lips; I found that it built up more in any lines I have (I’m nearly 30 so wrinkles are on the way!). It didn’t look even or matte on my skin until I really blended it in, at which point the colour had faded and wasn’t as vibrant as the website description would suggest. In addition to this, the brush is a bit cheap looking. THE GOOD BITS… The smell is gorgeous, really sweet like marshmallows or candy floss. I can also happily confirm that it doesn’t taste of anything – it won’t leave you tempted to lick the whole thing off. I did really like the colour, and although it doesn’t suit me it did make my lips look fuller. On the Absolute NY website there are 24 shades to choose from so you’re bound to find one that suits you. The more this lip colour settles, the better it looks on and it isn’t one that comes off easily. MY FINAL THOUGHTS… The Lolita shade is going to suit somebody with a lighter skin tone and lip pigment than me. It’s a pretty summery colour and has good staying power. At £4.93, it’s a good price for something you can throw in your handbag for daily use. http://www.gemofftheshelvesbb.wordpress.com

I like the matt effect but I thought it made my lips a bit dry

Awful

I was so exited to receive this product but hated it after trying it on. The lipstick is patchy and drying and the shade was a bright pink that nobody is able to pull off.
