Beauty School: Two Ways To Use theBalm Eyeshadow

Aubergine and terracotta are often overlooked when it comes to makeup, when in actual fact they’re two of the most flattering shades you could dust across your eyelids.

So this month, we’re shining the spotlight on them and have popped theBalm eyeshadow in either Kumar or Moskowitz inside your January box, so you can try one of them out for yourself!

Most of us know how to smoke with jet black shadow or blend with nudes, but if you’re after a little inspiration when it comes to applying aubergine or terracotta hues, here are a few ways we’ve been applying these wintery tones to our lids. (oh, and if you’re not yet a subscriber, you can get your hands on the January box here).

Using a fluffy brush, sweep theBalm’s Meet Matt(e) eyeshadow in Kumar across your whole lid and then use it to lightly line the lower lash line. Using an illuminating palette like essence Light Up you Face Luminizer Palette, press a shimmery highlighter onto the centre of the lid. Finally, add a coat of mascara!

Look two
Sweep theBalm’s Meet Matt(e) eyeshadow in Kumar across the whole of your eyelid, focusing on the outer corner. Taking a smaller eyeshadow brush, line the lower lash line. Apply a little highlighter to the centre of your lid and across the brow bone. To amp up the look, use an eyeliner pencil like Rodial Smokey Eye Pen and create a feline flick along your top lash line., then smoke out the eyeliner in the outer corner of your eye to create a smokey finish. Add a few coats of jet black mascara to your top and bottom lashes.
