Whether you’re after a dash of sun-kissed colour or simply want to add a little radiance to your complexion, bronzer is your knight in shining armour. It has the ability to instantly impart a healthy glow on your face within the buff of a brush, so you look as though you’ve just stepped off the plane from a sun-drenched location.
A top tip from us? Trying applying it to the parts of your face where the sun would naturally fall – a technique most recently referred to as sun stripping.
We tried six bronzers that promise to turn us into sun-kissed goddesses, here’s what happened…
‘Not only does this baked bronzer smell of vanilla (an absolute treat when you apply it), but the silky texture makes it super easy to apply. It glides across your cheeks, leaving the perfect dusting of ‘naturally tanned’ colour.’
Kiko Desert Dunes Baked Bronzer, £22.90
‘For an all over bronzed glow, Perricone wins hands down. Instead of your usual powder texture, it’s in serum form and has the ability to protect your face against UV rays all while adding a elegant veil of warming colour to your face. I simply dabbed a little directly onto my face using my hands, but you could also add a few drops into your foundation or moisturiser.’
Perricone MD No Bronzer Bronzer, £24.95
‘You may recognise this little delight from our April box (we’re big fans) – it’s a great go-to if you want a subtle dash of colour and a boost in radiance in one fell swoop of a makeup brush. The combination of colours makes the result really natural, but defniitely reduces the paleness winter left us adorning.’
Essence Mosaic Powder, £2
‘Not only does it look beautiful, but it provides the prettiest deep bronze. The different sections mean you can up up the intensity if you wish, adding a lighter touch on the apples of your cheeks or a darker bronze for a more contoured finish.’
Clarins Summer Bronzer and Blush, £30
‘Renowned for amazing summer bronzers, Estee Lauder never fail to dissapoint – and this compact was no exception. It left me with a warm glow like I’d just been on holiday, and the little brush it comes equipped with is the perfect size to dust over your cheekbones.’
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer, £33
‘The pigment in this bronzer is insane – I literally had to lightly tap my brush in and it boosted the sun kissed colour of my face instantly, leaving me with a natural looking tan – just make sure you pick the right shade for your skin tone!’
Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder, £28.50
