Tea is having a moment in the scent world, giving spring fragrances a fresh, utterly delicate and slightly aromatic edge. And it’s no wonder, as the smell is up there with bread, fresh baking and clean laundry as one of our favourite aromas.
Admittedly, we were a little hesitant at first to wander around GLOSSYBOX HQ smelling of a cuppa, but within one spritz we were hooked to the uplifting olfactory effect it had – and it made us smell pretty great, too.
With perfumers harnessing both black and green tea leaves in their latest compositions, conjuring up the scent is actually more about abstraction than reality – after all, tea itself, much like perfume, is often blended with a variety of different leaves to encompass a season, taste or sensation.
Here are a few new scents you can smell it in….
Annick Goutal L’Ile au Thé
Inspired by a volcanic island on the coast of South Korea, the latest fresh fragrance from Annick Goutal layers notes of mandarin, osmanthus, apricot and white musk around absolut of green tea.
