Simple Smoothie Recipes: The Skin Nourisher

Who doesn’t want healthy, beautiful skin? This week we’ve turned to Rose Lloyd Owen, the founder of nutritious lunch delivery service Peardrop for a little inspiration when it comes to loving our skin from within. With A-List fans including Stella McCartney and Alice Temperley, she’s even let us in on her insider recipe for creating brazil nut butter – trust us, it tastes amazing!

The Skin Nourisher
This tasty smoothie is made using antioxidant-rich ingredients to help repair damage to the body’s tissue and keep your skin radiant, smooth and nourished.

1½ plums
1½ banana
2 tsp cacao powder
½ cup blueberries
½ cup raspberries
1/3 cup almond milk
1 dessert spoon brazil nut butter

To make the brazil nut butter, toast a packet of brazil nuts on 180c until golden and, when cool, put into a high speed blender and blend for a few minutes. Use a spatula to stir any larger chunks in and carry on blending.  Blend and keep stirring until you have a smooth nut butter, this might take up to 10 minutes.  Add a pinch of salt, a tsp of honey, coconut oil or spices to taste (it’s super easy, we promise!)
