Battle Of The Lashes

Once in a while, we come across a genius product that exceeds expectations – and it seems as though mascara is having a bit of a moment. It’s not surprising really, as lashes were a key focus at many of the spring/summer 2015 shows, sweeping down runways at the likes of Costume National, Altuzarra and Sibling.

From primping and priming to curling beyond belief, this year sees a trio of innovative new arrivals, guaranteed to transform your eyes.

Tint, set, amplify
The first lash primer to triple its duties. You can wear it alone to tint natural lashes a glossy black hue, under mascara to amplify the finished look or as a waterproof sealant to stop your mascara running. We’re predicting this will soon be a make-up bag staple.
Estée Lauder The Little Black Primer, £20 (available 21st January)

It’s all about the brush
Hook n’ roll – that’s how the clever bristles on this mascara wand work their magic. Drawing inspiration from hair rollers, the clever people at Benefit have designed a brush that grabs, separates, lifts and curls, while the instant curve-setting formula holds the shape for 12 hours. In one swipe of a mascara wand your lashes will be totally transformed, trust us.
Benefit Roller Lash, £19.50 (available March)

Reboot, refresh and renew
This clear refreshing serum brings your mascara back to life, allowing you to keep piling more on. The lightweight formula gently combs through lashes, with copper powder and panthenol softening your existing mascara, in turn prepping lashes for a second (third, forth…) coat.
Urban Decay Mascara Resurrection, £10 (available 29th January)
