Our Back To Work Beauty Essentials

What January calls for is a solid stash of ‘back to school’ beauty essentials to get you safely through the month, free of parched skin and heralding a healthy glow. The over indulgence of Christmas can leave us feeling sluggish, but a spritz of the right scent and a dab of illuminator on your cheekbones will instantly perk you up.

Here’s what the GLOSSYBOX team are keeping on their desks for workday survival. Who in the Glossy team has the best desk? Tell us below…

Monday is hard enough as it is, let alone after two weeks off. So when January arrives, I turn to my fail-safe hero: face mist. Avene Eau Thermal Water Spray, £7, is like hitting an instant refresh button – plus it provides your face with a soothing spritz of goodness. I’m also never without my pot of Eve Lom Kiss Mix, £16. It’s a sure-fire way to keep my lips nourished and chap-free throughout the chilly weather.

My go-to duo for the first day back at work in January? A dash of Becca Beach Tint, £20, on my cheeks and some RMS Living Luminizer, £30. They give me an instant boost in luminosity.

These are my handy essentials for any mani-mergency! A slick of Ciate Nail Polish in Mistress, £9, adds some colour to a bleak month and Nails Inc. Remover Pot, £8, is a super-fast way to remove polish if it chips.

If I smell any more clove, spiced berries, or cinnamon, I think I’ll cry. Which is why on the first day back at work I came armed with the perfect antidote: Serge Lutens Sa Majeste La Rose, £74. It’s delicately floral (I’ve always been a bit scared of citrus scents) but it’s not too sweet and summery, so perfect for a fresh start to 2015. And as for the Michael Kors Bronze Power, £34, this is my absolute essential: one hand is usually occupied tweeting, pinning and on Instagram (which is a tad distracting), but this subtle colour means I avoid the risk of overdoing it, yet can still craftily disguise my winter pallor.

The blustery winter winds play havoc with my hair, so a Tangle Teaser, £10.99, always takes firm pride of place on my desk alongside a pot of Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, £19.50, for covering any signs of tiredness.
